Mt. Tabor, Israel — lessons and gifts

Last spring, I spent a day at Mt. Tabor, north of Tel Aviv. Something about this mound of earth at the junction of ancient strategic highways — "the battlefield of the nations" (Mark Twain) captured my imagination. And the months following the visit, I felt a compulsion to learn more...

Now that I'm back in Israel, I'm looking forward to catching up soon with many people you'll "meet" here (5 minutes).

Tamar,

What a beautiful, powerful video - I had no idea you worked in film as well as in words! Thank you for this gift this morning. And that closing footage, of the Nigerians dancing, and your surprise revealing that we Jews pray for the same things in the same words -- very moving.

I love the unmistakably Indian tone of the narrator, plus the eretz-israeli choir, Nigerian chant and cast of characters. Thanks, it gives some inspiration to those of trying to live here in hope.

Tamar, I have watched your videos and read many of your blogs...I think you are terrific in the way you interact with your environment and with the people in it. You are truly THERE when you are somewhere, and I admire your amazing connectedness...There is something wonderful about the way you have made a life in two so different places, and the way you make a difference wherever you are. Keep it up!
